Modelling Policy Statement

The ethos of Golovin is to create an Intelligent Modelling Framework to ensure that when a client commissions a consultant to complete water resource modelling that there is structure, understanding and successful completion.

The Modelling Policy Statement (MPS) is a core component of Golovin’s work.  It ensures that there is consistency, accuracy and long-term transparency without impinging on consultant’s skill and innovation.  The MPS is broken into 4 stages.

Section 1 – Organise

This stage sets the scene, the client expectations and the scope of work and the boundaries.  This is driven by the client.

Section 2 – Formalise

This states the general parameter the modeller will be expected to follow.  This is driven initially by the client and then agreed to by the modeller.

Section 3 – Implement

This sets the framework of how the work is to be done.  It still requires the modeller to use skill and expertise. This is driven initially by the client and then agreed to by the modeller.

Section 4 – Monitor

This can not be completed in the first version of the MPS.  The general structure is set up but the detail is finally agreed before close-off of the project.  The expected extra time and cost to the modeller is minimal based on the first version.

The MPS does not replace any contractual obligations of the consultant(s)
