The Inspiration

“I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth.” 

President John F Kennedy said these words in May 1961 and we all know what eventually transpired. 

This quote is a classic.  It sets a) a deadline, b) the objective and finally, and most importantly, c) the measurement of success. 

This is my inspiration for philosophy of Golovin.  But why Golovin? 

The “Golovin Committee” was set up to determine the holistic framework for achieving …returning him safely to the Earth.  It had to consider all options to ensure the lunar module could leave the surface of the moon, dock with the lunar capsule and then get the astronauts home.

Golovin’s new goal is creating an INTELLIGENT MODELLING FRAMEWORK.  Put simply, for any water resource modelling project, the framework is to define the objective and define the measurement of success and communicate it successfully with your preferred consultant. 

The tool in the box is the Modelling Policy Statement^TM (MPS) that covers from wo-to-go the necessary components that will ensure your investment in the modelling reaps continual rewards.  The process is both generic and comprehensive.  It can be applied to all types of modelling projects that include stormwater, wastewater, irrigation, groundwater and water supply. 

The view at Golovin is to set the right course at the beginning of the project and monitor progress until success is achieved in a timely and cost-efficient manner………otherwise where would Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins be now without the Golovin Committee seeing the big picture first.
